Vagelis Papageorgiou was born in 1985 and grew up in Athens. Since he was young he had contact with animal production, as his grand father was a livestock farmer, in the village of Anoi, Preveza. He studied "Automatic control and system engineering" in Greece and the UK. His love for nature and the mountain, guided him to occopy himself with mountain-hicking and rock climbing and in 2014-2015 he participated in the relevant modules of the Hellenic Federation of Mountain and Climbing, which he completed successfully.
In 2014-2016 he studied and graduated successfully from the department of Basic Principles of Beekeeping and Professional BeeKeeping at the Institute of Agronomic Sciences and got his first own bee hives. He has participated in a large number of seminars and congresses of professional beekeeping and hive products. Having as a goal the production of exceptional bee products, with respect towards the nature and the priniciples of sustainable beekeeping practices, he created the beekeeping unit "Agria Nomi". Following the practice of the nomadic beekeeping, he transfers his bee hives to remote regions, having as a goal to collect the purest products of the Greek nature. In 2020 he participated in the Mediterenean Taste Awards (MTA) with three different varieties of honey, which won a golden (orange blossom honey) and two silver awards (thyme and pine honey), respectivelly. In 2021, in the framework of the international and well recognised contest "Great Taste Awards", the orange blossom honey wins two stars, while the next year the flower honey wins in the same contest, with one star.
