So Myrsini, tell us about your concept…
I am an architect and an illustrator. Combining these two principals, I create series of illustrations of various cities, their architecture and their history, enriched with personal memories and experiences and travels. I transform these impressions of Greek and foreign cities into small prints or light boxes, that feature little hidden surprises, using the element of light to create interactive objects.
What is the inspiration behind your work?Β Who are some people/ what are some projects that have inspired you?
I get inspired by architecture, history and travel.Β Regarding the creation of illuminated frames, I’ve definitely been influenced by shadow theater and especially by a particular Karagiozis (puppet) show in Syros that’s been playing for the last three years.
Whats your experience of the Meet Market?
The Meet Market is the moment where the lonely process of creation comes out of its small box and makes a massive party that takes over Technopolis!
Where do you realistically see yourself in 5 years? If you didn’t have to be realistic, where would you dream to see yourself in 5 years?
In five years I see myself in Athens, although I would like to be on one of the islands from my light boxes.
Whats the one tool in your workshop that you cant live without?
My pens and my imagination!
Whats the strangest job you have every had?
What is strange to me is rather that I left the job I had to do what I do now!
