So Nikos, tell us about your lucky elephants…

Everything I make celebrate the material of wood.Β  I create signs and chalkboards with clever phrases and playful designs, colorful coasters and clocks that remind us how precious time is. The older, the better – many say. That’s my goal…Β  to make my creations look as vintage as possible, and to remind us of the good old times…. to bring out the nostalgia in each of us, and make us smile.

What is the inspiration behind your work?Β  Who are some people/ what are some projects that have inspired you?

Everyday life is the main source of inspiration, and objects that instinctually speak to me… but not only.Β  Music inspires me… the lyrics that get etched in our minds, and also issues cinema, photography and … our four-legged friends!

Whats your experience of the Meet Market?

I still remember my first Meet Market experience at Bios in January 2013. After three years, I have made many friends and acquaintances – more than I could ever have initially imagined…. And who was the first person to buy one of my objects; Our very own Santoner Rpz!

Where do you realistically see yourself in 5 years?  If you didn’t have to be realistic, where would you dream to see yourself in 5 years?

In five years, unless like turns a major turn for the unexpected, I see myself in Athens. Though I would prefer to be living somewhere else with less stress, better living standards and less pressure, for now, I don’t see my life changing that drastically.

Whats the one tool in your workshop that you cant live without?

My computer is the alpha and the omega of my work. Without it, I couldn’t make any of my designs.

Whats the strangest job you have every had?

Handing our advertising flyers! You may hear otherwise, but this job actually has many enjoyable and funny moments!

Describe the color blue to somebody who’s blind.

Our skies would be the ideal example of what blue is. Music and lyrics will help a lot in this. There is a song by ELO called Mr. Blue Sky… “Hey there Mr. Blue, we’re so pleased to be with you, look around see what you do, everybody smiles at you”!
