So Gogo, tell us about your concept…

My background is in architecture, and in recent years I have been focusing on my project “SHMEIO X”.Β  Cutting and glueing paper and cardboard, I match colors and shapes, and embroider or crochet with wire.Β  With these materials and process, I create utilitarian items like notebooks and greeting cards, and three-dimensional wall works through which I seek spaces illusions, representations of objects and pay tribute to my favorite creatures.

What is the inspiration behind your work?Β  Who are some people/ what are some projects that have inspired you?

I draw inspiration from everything in my environment, both natural and synthetic. One of the artists who has is Piet Mondrian and his compositions using primary colors.

Whats your experience of the Meet Market?

Each time is a celebration. The Meet Market is an opportunity to be with friends and meet new, nice people. And incidentally to exhibit and sell my paper goodies, which keeps me on my toes and gives me great joy.

Where do you realistically see yourself in 5 years?  If you didn’t have to be realistic, where would you dream to see yourself in 5 years?

Realistically, I see myself in an apartment with my cat, my man and many papers spread all over the place, waiting to become a three-dimensional work.
I dream to find myself on a farm with my cat, my man, a garden, a few animals, trees and fewer papers spread all over the place, waiting to become a three-dimensional work.

Whats the one tool in your workshop that you cant live without?

My cutter.

Whats the strangest job you have every had?

Fulfilling arbitrary folders for exemption from demolition in the public offices of Ilioupoli. Wild situations!
